Jesus’ statements: I Am the Truth, Your Word is Truth, You will know the Truth, the Truth will set you free, the Spirit of Truth will guide you into all Truth.

There is a progression of truth in scripture, it starts and ends with God. This tapestry of understanding connects every aspect of God’s nature, His purpose and how this relates to us.

As you grow in understanding and God reveals the depth of this truth to your soul, you will find every answer you’ve been looking for. This Truth….as revealed by God is the very core to the meaning of life. There is peace found in this revelation in the midst of loss, suffering, and ultimately in healing.

There have been many false representations of God’s truth. When applied according to a finite level of understanding or when applied based off cultural sympathies and social norms, this truth no longer remains true, it is then a twisted shadow of its former self. There have been many false prophets, deceivers, narcissistic collaborators of philosophy that have attempted to smear the lines of definition. They are schemers that are unknowingly driven by satanic doctrines that are intended to lead their adherents to the cliff of despair and pit of destruction. Their way is seemingly shrouded in light with a core of darkness.

Any deviation from truth is a lie. Any doctrine that adds to or takes away from truth no longer remains true. These doctrines may have similarities, use the same language and rhetoric, they may even profess a similar allegiance and yet they lead astray. If we are not wise to the truth, we can find ourselves drifting off, if even so slightly that it seems imperceptible, we will find ourselves down a path we are unfamiliar with and caught in a pit of despair.

The difference between those who are on the path of righteousness and those that are not, depends on who is doing the leading. If you want to know whether a particular movement is righteous or not, simply look at the one on whom the movement is founded. Jehovah’s Witnesses have Charles Russell, Mormons have Joseph Smith, Muslims have Mohammed, Buddhists have Buddha, Wiccans, Universalists, New Ager’s, and many others simply trust in themselves, their understanding and have made themselves god.

Christianity….The Way….has at its core in Jesus Christ. The Alpha and Omega, the Bright and morning star, Rose of Sharon, the Messiah, the Firstborn, the Good teacher, the Immanuel, King of kings, the Word made flesh, the great I Am. There is no other way to be saved and it is by grace alone. The concept of grace is unique to Christianity. Simply because no other person that any other faith has been built upon was willing nor were they capable of restoring the enmity between God and man. Jesus is and was the only One worthy to bear that weight of responsibility and He is the only One who will be exalted in the end. Every knee will bow down to Him, every tongue will confess that He is God, whether they want to or not.

So where will you be when the day of reckoning comes upon you? Where will you stand when Jesus is exalted and all will see that He was not some mere man, He was not just another god in a lineage, He was not the brother of Satan but He is the creator of all life, including the rebel Lucifer and those who followed him into treachery. Jesus will be exalted before all the earth to His rightful place as King of kings and Lord of lords, and will reign forever. Will you be among the faithful or among the damned? Will you be dancing in delight among the saints of old before the throne of God or in darkness and torment, where the worm does not die and the fire is not quenched? Will you be a sheep or a goat? The sheep follow the shepherd, the goats go their own way.

The shepherd will lead you into Truth if you let Him, He promised He would. His Word is true, His promises never fail.

I encourage you before you begin this journey to pray. Ask God for wisdom, as it says in James 1, ask believing, without doubt and the giver of all wisdom will fill you. It is impossible to fully understand truth without having it be revealed to you, this is the work of the Holy Spirit, who is given to those who believe. Jesus sends Him to you when you place your trust in Him. This is the meaning of being “born again”, as Jesus claims as a necessity in John 3:3. You will never see the Kingdom of God, both now or to come unless you’ve been born again.

The progression of Truth is impossible for those not born again. You will ever be on the outside looking in. The words of Christ, the revelations contained in scripture will amount to the words of Confucius, interesting, wise, but forgettable. Walking in truth is a process of learning, obedience, then sharing it with others. The Holy Spirit takes the truth you need to know now and begins to teach, convict and ultimately lead you in it. Your responsibility is to obey. As it becomes relevant to your life, (and it will be very relevant), you will face moments of seemingly mountainous hurdles to follow this course. The good news is, Jesus says if you even have the faith of a mustard seed, these mountains will be moved before you.

Nothing can come before the man who desires to walk this path because the Lord of all glory leads your way, and nothing can stand before Him. This is why we are commanded not to fear. “Fear not for I Am with you, be not afraid for I Am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10.

The right hand has been a symbol for purity or righteousness in Jewish tradition. Righteousness as it pertains to God is the perfection of His nature. Righteousness as it pertains to us is walking in accordance with Gods divine or moral law. So as we walk in Gods leading, righteousness is what leads the way. In other words, we allow the moral law, (10 commandments), to be the principles by which we live our lives. Psalm 19:7-10 “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;
8The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;
9The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.”

The reason this moral law is so vital is because it is a direct reflection of God’s character.

David meditated on it day and night, Nehemiah reflected on the wayward Israel because they neglected it, Paul says he was led to Christ because of it, Jesus used it in evangelism and countering self-righteousness, Jesus likewise said He did not come to abolish it but to fulfill it’s requirement, we are told that to keep it, keeps your way pure, keeps us from sinning, frees us from shame, imparts understanding, brings strength, peace, liberty, we are given life by them, they will endure forever. This was a short list, the attributes of the moral law are the attributes of God Himself and they are vast!

Truth resonates throughout the moral law, it is the very center of Christendom. They lead the blind from darkness to light, they are the very standard of righteousness every believer in Christ attains toward. So why would a short, 10 commandments list, that has been etched on buildings and monuments, tablets and frames for millennia, hold such weight? Well to know this answer, is to know Christ personally as your Lord and Savior. We can read them for ourselves and they seem quite simple from the onset.

Do you ever pray…”Lord bless me”? Bless my family, my future, my job, etc.?
How does God bless us, or better yet, when does He bless us?
Well, according to the Word of God, He shows us the path to walk in, the one that is blessed, we just need to trust Him as we walk in it.
Look at James 1:25

“But the one having looked intently into the perfect law, that of freedom, and having continued in it, not having been a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work–this one will be blessed in his work.”
The “perfect law of liberty” I’ve talked so much about, is the moral law. It is a guideline for how to live. The more we understand it, the more we grasp the framework for how to live life….God’s way.
Do we want His blessing? He has showed us how. Go about your day, do what is necessary, and while you do it, honor the Lord by allowing those principles to guide you in how you act, what decisions you make and the path to follow…and you will receive God’s blessing. He promises it.
Reject this path and what follows is fear, lack of strength and our work will simply come to nothing, it will be burned up as Isaiah 42:24-25 illustrates.
To follow Gods law is to live honorably and righteousness is imputed to us as we are obedient.
This should be our ultimate aim in life.
