Deuteronomy 7:9 “Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations”

Who are the redeemed of the Lord? What is it that sets them apart from any other religion? Many scriptures mentioned those who are redeemed and the characteristics that make them special.
Psalm 107:1-3 “Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever!
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,
whom he has redeemed from trouble
and gathered in from the lands,
from the east and from the west,
from the north and from the south.”
The goodness of God is revealed in the depth of the knowledge of Him. Only the redeemed have insight into this mystery. To know God is to love Him, the redeemed can love because He loved them first. The Lord has brought them out of the miry clay, He washed them and purified them from all sin and sorrow. Every nation has the redeemed in their midst, the light of God’s love is revealed through them in the darkness. They did not come freely on their own but He gathered them like a hen gathering her chicks. The Lord draws His people to Himself and reveals to them His glory.
Galatians 3:13-14 “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.”
The power of sin is in the Law. It does not waver in its judgement, it does not bend to accommodate the weak or lowly. The law is merciless and holds its position no matter how sorrowful the sinner. To stand before the law would be an exercise in futility, the wrath of God is justified against all who have broken it.

The redeemed have been rescued from the curse of the law. The sinner has a reprieve through Christ alone. When the perfect sacrifice was given, so was the law satisfied. The law of death was fulfilled and Jesus alone was who assumed that sacrifice. The redeemed have been purchased by His blood as a ransom for sin and now they can worship in the freedom that He brings.
Jeremiah 50:34 “Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name. He will surely plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, but unrest to the inhabitants of Babylon.”
Because of what the Lord has done…only the redeemed can worship the Lord. The world has not received grace nor has it believed in the only begotten Son of God. Worship is reserved for those who know and trust in the Lord. They know His goodness, and they owe Him their lives.
Exodus 15:13 “You have led in your steadfast love the people whom you have redeemed; you have guided them by your strength to your holy abode.”
The redeemed of the Lord are lead by God’s hand. They do not travel alone, nor will they ever be forsaken. The Lord cares for them like a shepherd over his sheep, He watches over them and leads them into His fold.
There is purpose in God’s plan. There is a hope that never diminishes. He is faithful and true and His promises are secure.
The redeemed are a privileged lot. All is required to follow, but the return far exceeds the cost.
Isaiah 62:11-12 “Behold, the LORD has proclaimed
to the end of the earth:
Say to the daughter of Zion,
“Behold, your salvation comes;
behold, his reward is with him,
and his recompense before him.”
And they shall be called The Holy People,
The Redeemed of the LORD;
and you shall be called Sought Out,
A City Not Forsaken.”

The great reward of God is waiting for His redeemed. They have been given a taste of what is to come. The Spirit of the Lord abides with them and yet they will know Him and see Him in full one day. The Lord…He is their great reward. They will inhabit the City of our God, and His throne will be in their midst.
What a day that will be, the redeemed in unity, dwelling in peace, knowing the Lord in full.
Isaiah 48:17 “This is what the LORD says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.”
The way is before the redeemed, they walk in it and are secure. The Lord teaches them and they increase in knowledge. Praise and worship continually emanates from the congregation because they have joy.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so…Yahweh is their God and they are His people.
