1 Timothy 3:16 “Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.”
vindication: the action of clearing someone of blame or suspicion. proof that someone or something is right, reasonable, or justified
Did you know that Jesus proved Himself right?
It was right for Him to come into our world of sin and rescue His people. He was accused of many things and cleared of them all. The Spirit of God gave proof of His divinity, the Father demonstrated His pleasure and lifted all suspicion of blame. Jesus acted faithfully, reasonably, and rightly…and at the right time He completed the work that He set out to accomplish.
I want to celebrate the life of Jesus Christ. I am who I am today because of Him. My life, my future, and my hope rests solely on His work and that work was complete.
The weight of sin and death has been lifted.
Isaiah 53:4-6 “Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned—every one—to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.”
Do you still bear the weight of your sin?
The sorrows of this world, we are not meant to carry. Sin is unnatural and yet we trod along as if it was our calling and purpose to carry the weight of shame. I know….we were born with a nature of sin passed down through Adam and we certainly are not alone in this struggle but God didn’t create Adam for shame, He formed him in perfection.
Sin came along after God’s perfect work of Creation, introduced by Satan into God’s perfection, the form of God’s work has become a shadow of what used to be. We can experience elements of that previous perfection through the vindication of sin, but we cannot do this on our own….we need help.
Restoration
Psalm 51:12 “Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.”
The Lord is in the business of restoring His Creation back to its rightful place. What man messed up—God makes new. If you want to know this joy there is an action that is required of you.
- You must be willing to be changed. God doesn’t forcefully restore people back into a position of perfection, He calls them and wants them to respond on their own free will.
Many have questioned why God would allow evil to run rampant upon the earth and this is part of the reason why—the ones perpetuating this evil will not forcefully be made to follow. They have been judged just like everyone has been judged and fallen short and when the time for judgement comes, they will soon discover their souls have been given over to destruction in Hell forever.
It amazes me how much the world loathes evil and yet partakes of it themselves without shame.
I recently heard from an acquaintance who mentioned that assault rifles need to be banned before abortion is ended. It shocked me they equated the ills of people who use weapons for evil to the mass carnage of death produced by the abortion industry.
The time is coming when all of this evil will be removed from the land.
Revelation 21:3-5 “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
For all those who have decided to take a stand for righteousness, your day of vindication is coming.
Proved Right
The world wants evil to be abolished but not at the expense of their personal rights.
The call for protection of the unborn has been contested by the hypocrisy of the world. The world wants to remove guns from mad men who shoot children mercilessly and yet they want women to have the right to murder their unborn child.
Today, people in government are trying to make it allowable to practice infanticide. If a child is deemed a mistake or if an abortion failed they want to end a child’s life; these same people who mourn over children dying from gun related deaths are pushing for greater control to kill babies.
This is the false reasoning of the world—that actions over life and death can be determined by man and not by God.
Isn’t this the same sin of Adam and Eve in the garden?
Genesis 3:4-6 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.
The Lord had given specific instruction not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God made it very clear to them that if they ate of that tree they would surely die. When Adam and Eve ate of that tree, they made a declaration to God—we don’t believe you.
- We don’t believe your promises are true.
- We don’t believe you are a just judge.
- We don’t believe you are sovereign over life and death.
Eve chose to believe the serpent over God. Adam didn’t think God would follow through with His promise that they would die if they ate of the tree so he willingly disobeyed.
The moment Eve gave into the deception and Adam willingly chose to follow Eve’s lead, they died spiritually. God was proven right and the serpent has been deceiving mankind ever since.
Today, the world wants to blame God for the ills of society. Questions are continually posed “Why does God allow evil to continue?”, “Why doesn’t God just stop evil people from doing their horrible deeds?”
The world doesn’t realize they are asking questions that bring condemnation upon their own heads!
Make no mistake, God hates evil. Evil is an offense personally against Him. People recognize certain kinds of evil but they refuse to recognize it in their own lives. The attitude of personally justifying oneself is made by weighing actions that they deemed as good with actions they deem as bad.
The bottom line is-people want to be in a position of God’s authority.
Revelation 12:10-12 “And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!”
-The time of the world’s rebellion is coming to a close.
–The time of God’s wrath against this evil is about to fall.
Make no mistake, the Lord will vindicate His name before all the earth. The sins of this world have been a mockery against God’s holiness but the Lord has been patient in allowing it to continue. God has in His mercy waited for the redeemed to come forth from the darkness so that He could rescue them from the destruction that is to come.
-The Lord will be proven right.
–The Lord will be proven good.
—The Lord will be proven holy, and just, and faithful.
If you have come to know the righteousness of God, you too are patiently waiting for the Lord to come make all things new.
Don’t fear, the Lord is not slow in keeping His promises. He has vindicated His name by conquering sin and death on the cross, He vindicates His people who come to Him in humility and belief, and He will prove to the world once and for all that He is Lord of all when He comes to conquer and crush the evil of this Earth.
You will see justice, just be patient, the time is coming very soon.
