Divine Revelation

Isaiah 40:5 “And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all humanity together will see it. For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”

Look at the world around you, don’t just look with your eyes, see the world from a perspective that is higher than you….what do you see?

There are signs everywhere, reminders of a greater force that is moving and shaping our world. The God of all glory has set the stage for what is to be a spectacular finish.

When your end has come, will it truly be the end?

Isaiah 40:26 “Lift up your eyes on high: Who created all these? He leads forth the starry host by number; He calls each one by name. Because of His great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.”

There are reported to be billions and billions of galaxies in the universe, and within these galaxies billions of stars and planets.

Did you know that God Himself has named everyone of them?

Every celestial body has been accounted for and yet only appreciated by God Himself. That’s right, on the grand spectrum of all that exists in the universe, we can only see a small fraction of what is out there.

What does this say about God?

  • There is no detail too small for Him to overlook.
  • When He calls them by name, His Creation is personal to Him.
  • He Creation brings Him pleasure.
  • Our planet is part of this grand picture.
  • You too are a part of His creative wonder.

The far reaches of the starry host just exists for God, in their complexity they float in a weightless array of extravagant order. His creation gives testament to His divine depth and wisdom and yet there is a part of this creation He has formed in His likeness….You!

Each aspect of God’s Creation issues forth a revelation of God Himself.

If you can’t see this revelation in the stars, can you see it elsewhere?

Those who See

Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

In order to see God beyond the obvious you have to be in a position that gives clarity. God’s revelation of Himself is made clear to those who have a pure heart.

You may ask, “how do I gain a pure heart?”

The answer is not found in a self-help pattern that people like Joel Osteen proclaim. You can’t just think positive like some magical incantation and watch Heaven move and blessings fall like rain.

The intent of a heart that is pure comes from a life made pure through the saving grace of Christ.

2 Timothy 2:22 “So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.”

As the Spirit of the Lord dwells within His people, there is a transformation that occurs, no longer are they ruled by their sinful nature but now they a have a new nature from which to draw strength, focus, and purpose for life. The practice of learning to walk in this nature of Christ is the encouragement given through Timothy.

Maintaining a pure heart is derived by walking in the Word of God. It is through the instructions of God’s Word we gain understanding as to what a follower of Christ looks like, how to please Him, and what it means to be transformed into His image.

Psalm 119:9 “How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word.”

Since it is the pure in heart who see God and it is accomplished by living according to God’s Word, it would be reasonable to conclude that divine revelation is found in God’s Word.

Revelation to the World

God reveals Himself to those who seek Him.

1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

If God reveals Himself to His people, we must ask ourselves…for what purpose?

If we were to share the deep and hidden aspects of God’s nature to the world, they would trample over them like pigs in a trough. The world cannot receive the deep things of God because they are spiritually discerned.

The revelation for the world is to have a knowledge of the consequences of sin. The moral law is the only revelation of sin they can process and subsequently for any who are sorrowful, the grace of God in Jesus Christ awaits them.

2 Corinthians 4:4 “In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

Any knowledge given to the world beyond the law and grace would be fruitless and unprofitable. Unfortunately for many, Satan works hard to deceive people from ever receiving the gospel.

Revelation to the Redeemed

John 14:21 “Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”

The revelation of God is given to those who love God. We have access to the Father by the purchased price of Jesus’ redemption, it is then through seeking Him we then come to know Him.

Philippians 3:8 “Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ.”

How badly do you want to know God?

What do you possess that is of greater value than knowing the unsurpassed glory of fellowship with God?

Everything must diminish before Him, nothing can stand in your way and you will see Him for who He is and your life will be blessed.

In Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, he reminds them of a mystery that has been revealed through the apostles and prophets and is now theirs.

Ephesians 3:1-4 “For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles— if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ),”

Do you want to know what the greatest mystery is that has been revealed?

Ephesians 3:6-7 “that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel, of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.”

As gentiles, we have been grafted into the vine of God’s people—To partake of God’s promises is to have a future and a hope.

This divine revelation is a manifestation of God’s promise. To all who receive Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.(John 1:12)

This opportunity to become heirs to God’s Kingdom is like winning the lottery a billion times over and then so much more. We have so much to rejoice in, we must not stop encouraging fellow believers with this Truth, we can’t stop sharing the gospel with those who are lost.

God’s Divine Mystery

Colossians 1:27 “To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

If your hope is in Christ, if you have been filled with His Spirit and walk in the fellowship of His love—-you are apart of God’s divine revelation.

The closer God’s people walk with Him, the greater God is glorified among them. Your life becomes a testimony to a world lost in darkness and an encouragement to those who are in the Body of Christ.

Let the Word of God saturate your life each day, let His love be found among you, and honor Him in righteousness. It is very obvious to others for those who walk in this manner.
