Light the Way

Mark 10:26-27 “And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”

The attempt to justify ones self is inherent in sinful man. Pride is at the heart of our endeavor to exalt ourselves and place our interests on the throne of our lives.

The long history of prideful shame has been a mainstay of people who have regarded their interests above others….including God’s interests.

*What does it take to be counted among the righteous? How good do you have to be to be afforded entrance into God’s presence?

You must be perfect.

The requirement to be justified is to follow the moral law in perfection your entire life. Not one moment of weakness where you offend the law will suffice to qualify you among the righteous. In essence, you would need to live as perfect as Jesus did while on earth as a man.

How many have accomplished this goal of perfection?———Zero.

Apart from Christ, not one person, on their own merits, has qualified entry into God’s heavenly Kingdom. Not Abraham, Isaac, or Jacob, neither Enoch, Elijah, or Mary have been able to qualify themselves by the way they lived their lives.

No amount of good deeds, no matter how many people applaud your efforts, no amount of kindness or compassion, peaceful demonstrations or servitude has given one person entry into the Throne of the King.

God demands absolute Holiness.

Ephesians 2:8-9For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

[By the requirement of the law, the Lord has invalidated every false religion in history.]

There is not one belief system that has been founded by men that does not have some requirement of sacrifice or servitude necessary to qualify for God’s reward.

If there is even a hint of personal pride in accomplishment, it will be reduced to ashes before the fire of God’s judgement. Nothing will carry merit, no one will stand.

The dismal remains of mankind’s accomplishments, has the potential to leave the adherents to this philosophy of life in——-hopelessness.

But…..

Hope has Arisen

Luke 2:25-32And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man wasjust and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law, he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said:

Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace,
According to Your word;
For my eyes have seen Your salvation
Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples,
A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles,
And the glory of Your people Israel.”

On December 21st, 2020, a phenomenon occurred that hasn’t fully happened in 800 years…the Christmas star has appeared once again. The near-aligning of Saturn and Jupiter has created the amplified appearance of a star in the sky.

Jesus, the hope for mankind who was born in Bethlehem 2000+ years ago, remains the only hope for mankind today. The star of Bethlehem was the sign of the dispensation of grace——could the return of the star be a sign of the soon and coming Messiah once again today?

When Jesus returns, He returns for His bride.

Not for the perfect will the conquering Savior come beckoning nor for the devout who have sought restitution from a false prophet….Jesus comes for those abandoned to His grace.

The attempts of mankind to be justified by the law fell short. Jesus fulfilled the law and opened a path of restitution that only God could fill.

In this season of trial, remember the hope that was born in Bethlehem for the salvation of mankind. The true meaning of life is found only in Jesus.

Revelation 22:16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

If you can place your trust in Him, this star will also arise in your heart as it did back then. As the magi came to worship the child who was King by following the star, so also…

Jesus will light your way.
